General Registration Information

The Paramedic Association of New Brunswick exists to protect the patients that we serve and to promote quality care through cooperative working relationships among organizations and stakeholders with EMS Interests. As such, all Prehospital emergency medical care professionals must register with the Association in order to practice in the Province of New Brunswick.

Currently, there exists only one level of Registration in New Brunswick, Primary Care Paramedic (PCP). The Association has been actively lobbying the government to introduce Primary Care Paramedic as the minimum standard and to adopt the educational profiles introduced in the National Occupational Competency Profile (2001), developed jointly by the Paramedic Association of Canada and Canadian Medical Association.
