Quality Assurance Officer

$39,936 TO $55,770 per annum

The Department of Health has an opening for a Quality Assurance Officer in its Health Emergency Management Services Branch (HEMSB). The successful candidate will report to the Quality Assurance Manager and will be responsible to ensure that ambulance services are delivered in accordance with the Ambulance Service Act, Regulations, Standards and Contract, through monitoring and auditing of reports related to clinical care, operational service delivery and direct field inspections. Other key responsibilities include asset management and researching EMS industry standards to ensure the service provider has the most effective practices in place. This position is also responsible for Health Emergency Management exercise planning, delivery and evaluation. Some travel throughout the province will be required.
Qualifications:
• Certified Paramedic registered with the Paramedic Association of New Brunswick, with a minimum of three (3) years experience working with a recognized ambulance service at an advanced life support (ALS) level;
• Experience to include one year in a supervisory capacity and/or one year as an Ambulance Inspector;
• Knowledge through experience in quality assurance processes is required;
• Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office is required;
• Diploma in Emergency Health Services Management Program as well as formal training in Emergency Preparedness Exercise Development would be an asset.
Written and spoken competence in English and French is required.
