NOTICE of DISCIPLINE COMMITTEE DECISION

The Discipline Committee ordered that the Member:
1. undergo an assessment of his paramedic treatment skills in the areas of patient communication, charting and documentation, patient assessment skills related to trauma, and spinal immobilization assessments and applications of appropriate treatments;
2. undertake any training recommended by the assessment and be reassessed following completion of any required training;
3. be restricted to only acting as an Ambulance driver until the assessment, training and reassessment are completed;
4. undertake the PHTLS course program or an equivalent program approved by the Registrar;
5. inform his employer of the Decision; and
6. pay the full costs of the assessment, training and reassessment and pay a portion of the costs of the Complaint, in the amount of $1,000, within 12 months.
Failure of the Member to pay costs or to complete the assessments, training and reassessments shall result in the immediate suspension of the Member’s registration.
In recognition of the Member cooperating and providing a written Submission, the Committee did not order a fine.
